For 12 years, I was a radio news reporter, anchor, talk show producer and then a morning show co-host. This experience taught me an invaluable lesson – engaging your audience the “first time out” is crucial. You have to be able to communicate in a way that is compelling and entertaining, yet informative. Otherwise, you’re dead in the water.
Upon leaving my radio career, I quickly stepped into marketing and advertising. After working as a marketing coordinator in the retail sector, I was hired by SOS Video Communications as a Senior Copywriter, where I worked with retail industry powerhouses, such as ALDI and American Signature, creating barrier-breaking television and radio campaigns. It was during this time that I also discovered a passion for blogging and social media. This is when I began to realize the incredible power of search engine optimization, social communities, and grassroots marketing.
Following that time, I began my tenure as a freelance copywriter and digital content specialist and have been blessed to have worked alongside best-in-class writers, designers and strategists. Between writing engaging copy for websites, banner ads, and email and print campaigns for clients such as inVentiv Communications, SBC Advertising, and ELEVATE thinking, I continue to evolve as a marketer, speaker, and aspiring author.
While companies scale back on their creative teams, I firmly believe in the importance of using a skilled, seasoned professional to craft a brand message and execute it flawlessly. I believe that my niche in the marketplace is being able to transcend the traditional view of marketing and transform it into a medium of relationship building.
In my free time, I am a wife, mother and aspiring gourmet chef. My husband and I live in Columbus, Ohio with our children and menagerie of pets.
